I encountered this Drake (male) Mallard one morning as I was setup in some brush at the edge of a lake in Boone County, Missouri. I knew from scouting the Ducks liked this particular log to do their preening on. I took several shots of this Drake and his Buddy doing their preening, then his Buddy swam off and this one stayed to rest for a while.
