The Burrowing Owl is True to their name; they live and nest in underground burrows made by mammals (like prairie dogs or ground squirrels) rather than in trees. Highly active during the day, they are easily spotted bobbing up and down on fence posts or open ground. this one I encountered at the “ARSENAL” in September 2024 during a light rain shower and I have this one printed and hanging in my home as well.
