I’d been keeping my eye on the Moma Goose on nest at a local wetland in Boone County, Mo, I knew when she started sitting the eggs and had a good idea when they might hatch - luckily for me I made a trip to check, and they had just completed hatching - time wasn’t on my side though as I desperately wanted to wait for them to leave the nest which was a tree trunk about 2-feet above the water - catching them jumping off would have been so cool, but I already made plans to be elsewhere.
